I've had a real pleasure working on this new series of Tropical Fish vector illustrations. These guys are part of a larger Endangered Wildlife Project that will launch later in 2017. More info on that soon. For now some previews to show how the series is taking shape. My favorite part of projects like this is to explore all the different ways to make each character have their own distinct style and expressions thru use of patterns, color combos, and line-making techniques. Currently working on a new Greenscale paintings series on 18"x24" watercolor paper. Over the past few years I have been building up each chapter of this '4 Elements' collection. Blue/Water, Red/Fire, Grey/Air, and now Green/Earth. Each series is on the same size paper and strictly monochromatic, but they all have different abstract form explorations and vocabulary that speaks to the corresponding element. In this new set I am mindful of the curves & lines found on leaves & branches & roots, the density & resilience of veg life, seeds & sprouts, and of course the uplifting energy found thru time spent in nature after a long wintertime.
